Annan Rotary Club

Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarians, provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.

There are over 32,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds.

Rotary and The Bill Gates Foundation are in partnership to raise enough money to eradicate polio from the world.
As a result local Rotarians will be out in Annan collecting money, working with local schools and on the High Street collecting money for this very worthwhile cause.

A donation of £1 provides 5 vaccines– yes 5!?
Did you know that the last polio outbreak in the UK was in the early 60’s? That the programme of mass vaccination carried out by the NHS has resulted in the disease being totally eradicated?
So please give generously and help children in countries such as India, Pakistan and Nigeria to live life to the full, without this disease threatening to damage and paralyse.
Annan people are a generous lot and Rotary appreciate that there is an on-going appeal for Haiti. Rotary are involved in fund-raising for that too. Please give what you can.

The Annan Rotary Club:

• Meets every Tuesday on the First Floor of The Corner House Hotel (Tel: 01461 202754) in Annan.
• 6pm for 6.15pm
• Enjoy friendship, fellowship and a healthy supper!

Get involved in raising funds for local charities / projects and good causes.

Be part of the bigger world picture and help provide assistance when disaster strikes and help the poor to improve their lives.

For example, during the Tsunami recovery, we were able to offer assistance through the network of Rotary Clubs world-wide. We also help raise funds for Eradication of Polio Worldwide - funds raised by The Rotary Club are matched by The Bill Gates Foundation.

• Joining Fee (one off payment)
• Subscriptions paid twice a year in January and July.
