Annan Art Club are a group of people who paint/sketch as a hobby. We work in all mediums.
The club was formed in 1967 by a group of people interested in painting/sketching. We currently have a healthy membership with a few places available. If you are interested in Art and wish to know more about the club, pop in to Kate’s Kitchen on a Tuesday afternoon between the hours of 2.30 - 4.30 pm. Although not officially a teaching group, we do occasionally have guidance from a qualified art tutor, as well as helping one another.
CLUB NEWS:
New Committee
Following our AGM on 9th June, and in line with our Constitution, a new committee was elected/re-elected. The committee for 2026 – 2028 is as follows. Chairperson: Fiona Peel, Secretary: Penny Green, Treasurer: Margaret Hay, Ordinary Members: Leslie McCulloch, Isabel Martin.
High Street display of art work
This year there will be no formal exhibition of our work, however from Monday 22nd to Saturday 27th June we have a window display of some of our artwork in 93 High Street next door to Café Royal. We like to keep the profile of the club active in the community and hopefully encourage anyone interested in painting, sketching to visit us on a Tuesday afternoon when we meet for our sessions in Kate’s Kitchen.
We are in the process of sorting out a programme of activities so if you want to find out more drop in for a browse and chat. It is worth mentioning that we do have an art wall in Kate’s Kitchen where members display and sell their artwork.
We meet on a Tuesday in Kate’s Kitchen, 52 High Street, Annan between the hours of 2.30 and 4.30pm, May to April with a month’s break at Xmas and New Year. Our venue provides superb natural light (essential for artwork), a comfortable environment, combined with very friendly input from staff at Kate’s Kitchen, which reassures that we are meeting in a safe environment.
